Become a Channel Member! The 45-70 and 30-30 are two wildly popular lever action rifle hunting cartridges that have a lot of differences, but there’s one HUGE difference that nobody talks about: the cost of use difference between the two.

A box of 30-30 ammo is often half as much as the same line of ammo in 45-70, so if you’re not actively hunting the largest of game such as Moose, elk and grizzly bears where I’d definitely want the additional power of the 45-70, the 30-30 might be the best choice.

After all, you can practice a lot more with a 30-30 than you can with a 45-70 without breaking the bank!
