“Dinmiyor Hiç Bu Akşam Ne Gözyaşım Ne Acım” (My tears and my pain never cease this evening.) is a Turkish music composed by Ziya Taşkent with lyrics by Mehmet Erbulan. It is performed in the makam (mode) of Hüzzam with a usul (rhythm) known as Aksak. The song belongs to the şarkı form, which is a genre of Turkish classical music.
Ziya Taşkent (1932 – 1999) was a Turkish classical music composer and vocalist. He was born in Adapazarı. After graduating from high school, he briefly studied law at university for a year. He began his artistic career at Ankara Radio in 1953 and later continued as a soloist, teacher, composer, and conductor for uninterrupted 45 years under the umbrella of the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT). He started performing on stage in 1967. Ziya Taşkent was an exemplary artist known for his posture, personality, songs, and beautiful voice. He received the “Artist of the Year Award” multiple times from various newspapers and institutions and was honored with the title of “State Artist” by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey in 1998. He was one of the most prolific composers of the neo-classical era in terms of themes. On August 17, 1999, during the Marmara earthquake, Ziya Taşkent tragically lost his voice artist wife Ulviye Taşkent, his daughter Rengin Dalmanoğlu, and his grandchildren Ece and Efe Dalmanoğlu in Çiftlikköy district of Yalova.
