Rainy day? Need something to warm you up? Try this Japanese hotpot at…
📍 Ichiriki
One of the OG Nabe (Japanese for Hotpot) in Honolulu, #Ichiriki is a local favorite that has been open since 2006. The shop features dishes from Sukiyaki and Shabu Shabu to their 15 original soup broths. They also have some appetizers, set meals, and dessert. Each hot pot comes with a choice of meat plus vegetables, mushrooms, chicken, shrimp, and fish balls.
We got the Yuzu Koshō (A mix of chili peppers, yuzu citrus, and salt) and Angry Goma (Spicy sesame) broths plus the pork chanko nabe.
The interior is largely Japanese influenced, which reminds me of a Japanese style home with booths and tables.
The standard nabe cost about $30 and different meats and broths cost extra. This can be a little pricey if you tend to eat a lot or order extra meat.
The service can vary depending on the server as we had different levels of service on each visit. For the most part it is average.
Overall, decent place to go and it is located a convenient location right down the street from Ala Moana Mall.
