Here’s a great towel stretch that can help improve shoulder internal rotation mobility. Shoulder internal rotation is a movement that often becomes restricted following trauma or surgery.
Asymmetry like I demonstrate here is very common even in the healthy shoulder and not usually something to worry about.
If you have restricted internal rotation range of motion and feel that it has worsened due to an injury, a towel stretch can be very useful for increasing mobility.
Initially, performing 2-3 stretches throughout the day and holding each one for 2-3 minutes will help increase joint mobility. As your tolerance to stretch improves, longer hold times (up to 10 minutes) can be used.
